Freedom 21 Meeting
Tuesday, Sept. 15 - Freedom 21 Meeting @ Salvation Army building on Waldo Rd. near Bay City Rd. in Midland. Meeting begins at 7 p.m. and will feature Pete Konetchy, candidate for U.S. Representative, District 4 in a townhall-style meeting. Pete will inform us about his decision to run and a few of his ideas and you can ask him any questions you may have.
We have started meeting at 6:30 p.m. for a light supper. Please come if you are able, or we will see you @ 7 if dinner doesn't work into your plans.
THIS MONTH ONLY: Beginning @ 5:30 p.m., we will have an organizational meeting for Pete K. If you or someone you know has some time to offer assistance to Pete and his campaign he is looking for grassroots volunteers to help with various positions in his campaign. Come on out at 5:30, see what jobs Pete is looking to fill then join us for dinner. Simple!

Please bring a cooler, your order and your money to the meeting on Oct. 15 and we'll get your order for you. Oct. 22 - 7 p.m., Williams Twp. Hall, regular monthly meeting. Speaker TBA.
We will also be collecting items for the military at this meeting. We've done this enough times, we think you know the routine! We need to collect in October so that Tammy can take the collected items over to Frankenmuth on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. There is a lot of festivities there that day to honor our Veterans so if anyone is interested in carpooling/helping with the donated items please let Tammy know. There will be a large truck there waiting for donations. Let's do our part, let's show our brave men and women that they're in our hearts and minds always, and especially during the holiday season. I understand from the coordinator that donations did not meet the needs last year and we all know the cuts that have been made to the military in the last year or so . . . Let's do what we can, and then some.
(**If there are people who are interested in ordering meat, etc. from the Baker's and will be coming to the monthly meeting we will figure out a date to make another run and get those orders filled. )

Millage, candidates up for discussion at forum in Beaverton
Are you looking for a chance to learn more about the Public Safety Millage from local officials? Do you want the opportunity to meet candidates that are running for local offices in the cities of Beaverton and Gladwin? Then don’t miss the next We The People of Gladwin County event! Everyone is invited to come ask questions – or just listen and learn - as We The People of Gladwin County hosts a Townhall-style forum open to any candidates who are on the Nov. 5 ballot. The meeting will also give attendees the chance to ask questions of Gladwin County Board Chair Josh Reid about the County-Wide Public Safety Millage. Peter Konetchy will also be on-hand to speak to guests. Peter is challenging U.S. Representative Dave Camp in the 2014 Primary Election. The forum will take place at the Beaverton Community Center on Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. Any candidate for local office is welcome to introduce themselves and speak at the forum. Paying For Justice

We won, however, It's called paying for justice. It's no wonder folks are frustrated, angry, irritated, and upset with judges who allow OUR courts to be used for a frivolous suit then do not sanction the person who initiated the action. The editor chose to use an two year old photo and associate it with a meth lab bust. The editor chose not to retract nor apologize for a story that implicated innocent folks in this local community two years prior. It was the editor who insulted the landowner upon visiting her office. It was the editor who decided to sensationalize a story to sell papers better known as "yellow journalism", of which we shared our opinion of.
IN the land of legalese, writing a corporate office when upset with the actions of any employee, at any time, any where, is called the proper administrative procedure. The corporate office had and has a right to know what is going on regarding those they hire, and pay. The purpose was to rectify a situation by sharing our opinion of the editors actions, and that was the intent. Our comments regarding our opinion of her style of writing stands as just that. It is and was an opinion, which is protected free speech.
In today's world literally billions use social media to express their opinions; and though it is taken for granted, it is a precious right that we all need to carefully guard.
But to have to pay for justice borders on the obscene. It's time to change that and hold these attorneys who bring these type of suits into our courts accountable, and the judges who do not sanction to protect their lawyer friends as well.
We need mandatory sanctions for frivolous lawsuits. The problem remains with lawyers who write the laws, to protect each other, and to profit off us. The progressives have monopolized the law which has turned Michiganders into a capitalized human resource for their benefit.

Miller Property Rights Case

No progress in the Miller Mud Bog / Property Rights Case.
Gladwin County is suing Denise Miller for Mud Bog Activity on her private property as a Nuisance per se.
The Judge has suggested a mediator work with the county attorney, zoning administrator, the Miller's, their stakeholders, and the Miller's attorney.
Gladwin County has been determined that the Miller's need to apply for a special use permit for bog activity on the their property. The Miller's, in contrast, have been determined that their activity is not in the County's realm of jurisdiction.
The Miller's property is private and patented.
